News ItemTLHS Students Volunteer at La Luz and NMSBVI

Feb 2, 2016 –

Every Thursday, the ninth graders from TLHS go out into the community as part of their service learning. Among the sites where they volunteer, students help at two other schools located in the SS&TP – the La Luz Early Childhood Center and the NM School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. The students support classroom teachers on projects, outside recess supervision, and facilitation of activities, providing an extra set of hands, eyes, and ears. These volunteer activities are fun for the students, useful to the community, and teach students valuable skills that will transfer to career, college, and life.
