On September 14 – 16, Sandia National Laboratories (SNL)and the New Mexico Science and Technology Parks Alliance hosted the AURP Southwest Regional Meeting. AURP fosters innovation, commercialization, and economic growth in a global economy through university, industry, and government partnerships.
The meeting was focused on “working with federal laboratories’ and began in Albuquerque with welcoming remarks from Mayor Richard J. Berry, followed by tours of the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History and SNL. At SNL the group visited the National Solar Thermal Test Facility and the Thunder Range with a demonstration of Stingray, a compact water disrupter that disables IEDs. The meeting continued for a full-day session in Santa Fe and concluded on Friday with a tour of Los Alamos and Los Alamos National Laboratory. Attendees from over 13 states participated.
