Nov 2, 2015 –U.S. Senator Tom Udall (D-NM) organized a technology transfer roundtable discussion at Sandia on October 14 about enhancing technology transfer and creating jobs to strengthen the New Mexico economy. U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-NM), U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD), and Jetta Wong, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Acting Director for Technology Transitions, participated along with Jill Hruby, Sandia President and Laboratories Director, Rob Leland, Sandia Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, and officials from Los Alamos National Laboratory. Several local companies founded on technology developed at Sandia – HT MicroAnalytical, Aquila, mPower Technology, and Abbott Medical Optics – also took part in the roundtable. The event was held at Applied Technology Associates (ATA) in the SS&TP.
