Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union (SLFCU)–Congratulations to Robert Chavez on being named President and CEO of the $2 billion credit union. Chavez has been Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the 71,600-member credit union since 2002 and has more than 27 years of financial institution experience. Chavez is active in the SS&TP community, having served on the Board of Trustees for the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History as well as the Sandia Science & Technology Park Community Advisory Council. Sandia Hosts Congressional Fellow–Sandia National Laboratories recently hosted Brian Crone, a Congressional Fellow from U.S. Representative Ben Ray Luján’s Washington, DC office. In his new role, Brian provides assistance with science and engineering issues that relate to policy and legislative matters under consideration by Congress. The purpose of the visit was for Brian to learn more about Industry Partnership and Economic Development programs at Sandia. The meeting also included tours of the Sandia Science & Technology Park, including Air Products & Chemicals Inc., as well as the University of New Mexico Advanced Materials Laboratory. Company Leadership Luncheon–The SS&TP held a Company Leadership Luncheon hosted by the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History in partnership with the New Mexico School for the Blind & Visually Impaired (NMSBVI) on March 13th. It was an opportunity for Park executives to have special access to the new active learning exhibition, “Roll, Drop, Bounce: The Science of Motion,” and meet directly with other Park leaders.
