Sumitomo Electric Device Innovations USA, RED, Inc., and The QC Group are new companies that moved to the SS&TP; U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman was recognized with a Pillars of the Park Award for his leadership in support of the SS&TP; Governor Susana Martinez held a press conference at Air Products to discuss the importance of New Mexico’s Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) funding in the state’s efforts to encourage job creation and economic development; Taiwan-New Mexico Workshop on Science Parks was held to discuss best practices, business opportunities, and technology transfer; Matt Erskine, U.S. Economic Development Administration, a key partner in the Park, visited and toured the SS&TP; Dr. John Holdren, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, met with SS&TP and New Mexico business leaders regarding technology development and commercialization; SS&TP Open House showcased the products and capabilities of Park companies to representatives from Sandia National Laboratories, Air Force Research Laboratory, and Kirtland Air Force Base; Economic Impact Assessment News Conference, featured Mayor Richard J. Berry, City of Albuquerque and Commissioner Maggie Hart Stebbins, Bernalillo County, and was held to announce the economic impact of the SS&TP; The First Annual Sandia Research & Technology Showcase featured cutting-edge research and technology development taking place at Sandia National Laboratories and provided information on doing business with the Labs through licensing, partnerships, procurement, and economic development programs; Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC) recognized the SS&TP with its 2012 State and Local Economic Development Award.
