SS&TP Company Open House showcased the services and capabilities of Park companies to representatives from Sandia National Laboratories and Air Force Research Laboratory; Economic Impact Assessment News Conference announced 2,470 jobs created, $2.2 billion impact on taxable personal consumption, and $3.7 billion impact on wage and salary disbursements all attributable to the Park; Center for Collaboration and Commercialization (C3) was announced by Sandia in partnership with the City of Albuquerque and the University of New Mexico. It aligns with the Innovation District and Innovate ABQ initiatives and is intended to boost Sandia’s interactions with its partners and to promote technology commercialization; Sandia Technology Showcase was revamped to highlight partnership opportunities and create more commercialization results. It is now a series of events in New Mexico and California; Cyber Engineering Research Laboratory led a cognitive research effort to enhance the research environment by bringing food trucks to the SS&TP; Liquid Common, a nationwide, digital marketing company, moved into the SS&TP; U.S. Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham hosted a news conference at EMCORE to announce a new Congressional Business Advisory Council; U.S. Senator Tom Udall visited Applied Technology Associates as part of his focus on technology transfer and the creation of companies based on research from the national labs; Congressional Fellow Brian Crone from U.S. Congressman Ben Ray Lujan’s office visited the SS&TP to explore Sandia’s economic development programs and tour companies in the Park.
