New Business Advisory Council Formed – Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham held a press conference on May 27 at EMCORE Corporation to announce the formation of her new Congressional Business Advisory Council. The council is comprised of 14 local business leaders that will work with the Congresswoman on job creation initiatives and replicating Albuquerque’s success stories. The council includes Jackie Kerby Moore, Executive Director, SS&TP, as well as leaders from economic development groups, private industry, and other high-tech business leaders; Moog-CSA Albuquerque Recognized for its Optomechanical Capabilities – The company, recognized as a center of excellence for Moog’s optomechanical systems, recently completed fabrication, testing, and delivery of its precision optical metrology systems. During the last 3½ years, the total for all components delivered by Moog-CSAfor the optical test system is valued at just over $19M. The systems’ support stands are used to precisely position an interferometer within a large scale ground test system. These ground based systems are used to characterize an optical payload; The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History Museum Photo Competition – The museum will host a photo art exhibit that invites members of the community to share their photographic talent and eye for everything that is science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEaM). The “Atomic STEaM Photography Show” is open to all members of the public. The winner will receive a cash prize and also have their work debuted at the museum November 8, 2014 through January 4, 2015.
