SS&TP/C3 Community Advisory Council Meeting – Members of the SS&TP/C3 Community Advisory Council recently convened at SolAero Technologies, a company located in the Park, for the Council’s annual meeting. The Council was briefed on SS&TP/C3 activities from the past year and then took part in a growth strategy discussion for the Park. Leaders from five of the newest companies in the SS&TP were also introduced.

Congressman Ben Ray Luján Visits Sandia and the SS&TP – In addition to Congressman Ben Ray Luján’s visit to Sandia National Laboratories, the Congressman spent time at SolAero learning about the company’s programs like OneWeb and touring their facility. Murat Okandan, founder of mPower Technology and a former Sandian who left the Labs on the Entrepreneurial Separation to Transfer Technology (ESTT) program, talked about how his company
recently licensed Sandia technology and is looking to partner with local companies and accelerate deployment of solar in high value applications followed by entry into the very large scale terrestrial solar market.

AOT Featured at SS&TP Company Leadership Luncheon – The SS&TP Company Leadership Luncheon featuring Advanced Optical Technologies (AOT) was recently held at the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History. AOT, which offers multi-dimensional material characterization for more complete understanding of complex materials and devices, talked about the company’s capabilities. Guests from the CNM Community College and Career High School, NM Angels, and NM Start-up Factory shared information about their programs and services. Leadership Luncheons provide a forum for Park leaders to network with each other and give company updates. This luncheon was hosted by the Sandia Science & Technology Park Development Corporation.


PEC Moves in the Park – Project Enhancement Corporation (PEC) recently opened an office in the Park. The company, headquartered in Maryland, provides support services throughout the country to government agencies,
major federal contractors, and the private sector by delivering programs across the national security, safety & health, and environmental management fields. More at

The Innovate New Mexico Technology Showcase highlights research and technology opportunities, start-up companies, and economic development resources from the leading research institutions in the state of New Mexico. Sandian Ronen Polsky presented “Microneedle Sensors to Monitor Health and Human Performance.” Nearly 150 people, including potential investors, entrepreneurs, community leaders, government representatives, and Sandians, attended the event.
